Step 1
Install the extension
Add removi to your browser in a couple of clicks.
You've always heard people talk about digital footprint, but you've never heard an easy solution. removi is the solution, it actually deletes your own old online accounts, one by one, in minutes. Here's how:
Step 1
Add removi to your browser in a couple of clicks.
Step 2
removi finds the accounts linked to your email, right inside your own browser.
Step 3
Tick the ones you're done with. Everything else stays exactly as it is.
104 old accounts found
Step 4
It signs in, finds the delete button and closes each account for you.
If you're curious about what's actually going on in the background, this is how it all works.
There is no login to hand over. removi works inside the email tab you're already signed into, and reads the page the same way you do. It looks for sign-ups, welcome messages, receipts and password resets, and works out which service each one came from. Your emails never leave your device. The only thing sent to us is the web address of each service it finds, so removi can show you its name.
Almost no site has a tidy "delete me" link. Since removi can reach your inbox but never your password, it resets the account's password to a long temporary one, held only in memory on your device and deleted the moment it's done. It then signs in, requests the deletion and finishes any further steps. Your real password is never seen, needed or stored.
removi never touches an account you didn't pick, and it works on one account at a time. If it can't finish deleting an account, it stops working on that one, keeps you signed in as you were, and moves on to the next. The accounts you didn't choose are left exactly as they were.
The parts of removi that read your inbox and act on your accounts are open source. You can read them, run them, or hand them to somebody who can. removi sends us very little, and never your emails or your passwords.
