Privacy Policy

Last updated: October 2026

1. The short version

removi is a browser extension. It finds the online accounts that you signed up for, and it deletes the accounts that you choose. We built it so that the sensitive work happens on your own device.

removi reads your emails in your browser, on your device. Your emails are never sent to us. We receive only the small amount of information that removi needs to do its job. This policy lists all of it.

2. Who we are

This policy explains how removi ("removi", "we", "us") handles your information in the removi browser extension and on the website at removi.me. If you have a question about privacy, or you want to use one of your rights below, email us at [email protected].

3. What stays on your device

Your emails. To find your accounts, removi reads your emails in the Gmail tab that you are signed in to. It looks for emails that show you have an account, such as welcome messages, receipts and password resets. During a deletion, it also reads the emails that a website sends you, such as a reset link or a code. All of this happens in your browser. We never receive the content or the subject of your emails, and we never store them.

Passwords. To close an account, removi sets a new, temporary password on that account. removi makes this password on your device and keeps it only in memory. It is deleted when the deletion ends. We never receive it. We also never receive your real password.

Access to your inbox. removi never gives us access to your inbox. When you delete an account, removi sends your email address to that website from your browser, for example to ask it for a password reset.

4. What we receive

When you use removi, it sends this information to our servers:

  • Your email address, to link your licence to the inboxes that your plan covers. Knowing your email address does not give us any access to your inbox or your accounts. We cannot read your emails or sign in with it.
  • The web addresses of the services that removi finds in your inbox (for example, "example.com"). We use them to show you the name and logo of each service. We do not keep this list.
  • For each account that you choose to delete, the web address of that service and your licence key. We use them to send removi the steps to close that account, and to check that your plan includes it.
  • Security check details, when a website shows a security check (a CAPTCHA) during a deletion: the type of check, the site key and the address of the page. We send this to our CAPTCHA-solving provider so that the deletion can continue.
  • The result of each deletion: the service, and whether the deletion worked or failed. We use this to remember what is already deleted, and to find and fix websites where removi stops working.

Like most online services, our servers can also record basic technical details about each request, such as the IP address and the time. We use these details only to keep removi secure and working, and we keep them for a short time.

We do not use any of this information to build a profile of you. We do not sell it, and we do not use it for advertising.

5. What we keep

We keep only what we need to give you continued access to what you paid for, and to stop removi from doing the same work twice:

  • a record of your payment, and the plan that you bought;
  • the email addresses that your licence covers;
  • the names of the services that removi deleted for you, so that it knows what is already done when you use it again. We keep nothing else about these services.

We do not keep your emails, the list of services that a scan finds, your passwords, your full card details or a profile of your activity.

6. How we use information

We use the information above only to provide removi. This means to find your accounts, to delete the accounts that you choose, to take your payment, to manage your licence and to answer your questions. We do not use it for advertising or profiling, and we do not sell it.

7. Service providers

A small number of providers help us run removi. They use data only to do this work for us:

  • Stripe, to take card payments. Stripe handles your card details under its own privacy policy. We never receive your full card details;
  • NOWPayments, to take cryptocurrency payments. NOWPayments handles your payment details under its own privacy policy;
  • a CAPTCHA-solving provider, to complete security checks during a deletion;
  • a hosting provider, to run our servers.

We never sell or rent your personal information to anyone.

8. This website

The removi.me website does not use cookies or tools for tracking, analytics or advertising. It does not load content from other companies. Other websites can receive information about your visit only if you click a link to them, for example a link to a browser extension store.

9. Security

We use standard technical and organisational measures to protect the information that we handle, including encryption in transit. Your emails and passwords never reach our servers, so they cannot be lost from them.

10. Your rights

Depending on where you live, you can have the right to see, correct or delete the information that we hold about you, to object to or limit how we use it, and to get a copy of it. These include your rights under the GDPR and the CCPA.

To use any of these rights, email [email protected]. We keep very little, so we can usually answer quickly.

11. Children

removi is not for children under 16. We do not knowingly collect information about children.

12. International transfers

The information that we handle can be processed on servers in other countries. When this happens, we make sure that it stays protected to the standard in this policy.

13. Changes to this policy

If we change how removi handles your information, we will update this page and the date at the top. If a change is important, we will make a reasonable effort to tell you.

14. Contact

If you have a question, a request or a concern about your privacy, email us at [email protected].
